Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Winston Ramble is a homegrown, acoustic, folk-rock band. With members originally hailing from the free state of Winston County, AL, the band aims to interject the raw expression of rock n' roll into the feel-good vibes of acoustic music.

The sound of an old southern soul hits you right out of the gate. Drew "Ben" Benefield' s vocals are soulful and still gritty. Combine that with some mandolin twang, big country bends, and church-like harmonies and you'll probably be left feeling like you're listening to a mix between a classic rock band and a gospel bluegrass quartet. Yet, the acoustically driven tunes carry a funky, sometimes psychedelic, but ultimately, an undeniable rock n' roll vibe.

"At the end of the day, we want people to have a good time        when they hear          our music. We want it to make                                                   you smile, sing along, nod                                                   your head, stomp your feet,                                               or get down and groove. And                                     that's because we feel that way about                           the music we play, and we love playing it.  That attitude and energy is contagious, and hard to resist."                                         -Justin Oliver, mandolin/vocals

Fronted by Benefield, Oliver, and Jud Mize (guitar/vocals), Winston Ramble performs both as a stripped down acoustic band and as a full acoustic/electric 5-piece band, rounded out by Max Millwood (bass) and Coty West (drums), allowing them to be versatile enough to play a wide variety of venues. The band easily picks up the vibe and feels at home playing at concerts, restaurants, breweries, art exhibits, pubs, festivals, fraternity parties, or dive bars.
